The UN Security Council adopted a draft resolution backing US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan and authorising creation of an international stabilisation force, a move Trump hailed as a "moment of true historic proportion".
The US-drafted resolution passed on Monday with 13 votes in favour, while China and Russia abstained. It endorses Trump's Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, unveiled on September 29, which envisions Gaza as a "deradicalised, terror-free zone" focused on redevelopment and long-term stability.
