Bose recalls being blocked from Mannam Samadhi tribute

West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose has publicly criticised the leadership of the Nair Service Society for preventing him from offering floral tributes at Mannam Samadhi, describing the episode as deeply hurtful and contrary to the inclusive legacy of social reformer Mannathu Padmanabhan.

Bose made the remarks while addressing a Mannam commemoration programme organised in Delhi, using the platform to recount an incident that he said took place before he assumed office as governor.

Speaking to an audience that included members of the Nair community and representatives of various cultural organisations, Bose said the refusal he faced at the memorial in Perunna came as a shock, given Mannam's role in shaping Kerala's social renaissance and promoting dignity across caste and co mmunity lines.
