A week on, thick smog, odour resurface near RCF

Barely a week after residents of Chembur East's Sindhi Society and Collector Colony reported health issues from an alleged gas leak at the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) plant, similar complaints of thick smog and a strong odour from the plant surfaced on Monday.

However, RCF officials maintained that no leakage had occurred.
"High-tech machinery has been deployed, and following complaints last week, everything has been rechecked.
The pollution board has also installed machines, and all gas emissions are reportedly within permissible limits," an RCF spokesperson said.
