Thiruvananthapuram's Metro project gains momentum

The Kerala government has made significant strides towards realising the long-anticipated metro project in Thiruvananthapuram, with the cabinet’s recent approval of the first-phase alignment.

This phase, marking a crucial step forward in the city’s infrastructure development, is set to improve connectivity and stimulate growth across several key areas of the capital.The first phase of the metro project will span 31 kilometres, featuring 27 stations along its route. The metro line will connect vital areas of the city, including the airport, Technopark, the Secretariat, the Medical College, and major transportation hubs like the Thampanoor bus stand and the railway station.

The alignment stretches from Pappanamcode in the southern part of the city to Enchakkal in the north, passing through significant locales like Killippalam, Palayam, Sreekaryam, Kazhakoottam, Technopark, and Kochuveli.
