Protesters raised slogans, saying that despite repeated complaints, public safety is being ignored by the authorities. They said they had filed official complaints and followed up several times, but PMC and PMPML had failed to undertake even basic repairs and maintenance of BRT infrastructure across the city. They said the apathy continued even as public transport fares kept rising, forcing commuters to travel in unsafe, broken and inhuman conditions.
