Organ donation soars

The Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre (ZTCC), Pune, has recorded the highest number of organ donations in Maharashtra in 2025.

A total of 79 brain-dead organ donors helped save 207 patients through successful transplants. Kidney transplants were the most common, benefiting 117 patients, followed by 67 liver transplants, 13 lung transplants, and 4 heart transplants. Several combined transplants were also carried out successfully.
