Flights resume selectively
December 07, 2025
|The Free Press Journal - Mumbai
Flight operations at Chennai airport moved gradually back into motion as several departures lifted off from the early hours of Saturday, offering limited relief to passengers facing extended disruptions caused by continued cancellations by IndiGo.
The partial resumption signalled a fragile but noticeable improvement in the airport’s operational readiness after a prolonged spell of weather-related challenges that had displaced schedules and strained airline capacity.
Departures began from around 3 a. m., when aircraft bound for Pune, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Coimbatore, and Kochi managed to take off after ground teams cleared aircraft positions and assessed runway conditions.
