Children thought it was a 'real' movie

A day after the horrifying hostage incident in Powai, several new details have come to light.

According to a senior police officer, Rohit Arya had told the children and their parents that he was going to shoot a kidnapping scene. He reportedly tied up a few children and sealed their mouths with cellotape. The scene, written by Rohit himself, was one that he had planned to produce and direct.

Police officers said that initially, the children believed it was a scene being filmed. However, after about two hours, they began to lose patience. At that point, Rohit started brandishing a pistol and an iron knife, threatening to kill them.

The studio space was very congested. Rohit had kept some children with him while a few others were confined to another small room on the same first floor. He covered the glass walls with black curtains, fixed a motion sensor on the door, and installed several CCTV cameras inside the hall. The studio was duplex in design, and the incident took place on the first floor.
