Child injured by car in Malad soc: CCTV footage, non-bailable offence, but no arrest

The Bangur Nagar police have only issued a notice to the accused, Shweta Shetty-Rathod, in connection with the October 19 incident wherein a seven-year-old boy suffered severe leg fractures after being run over by her car while playing inside a residential complex in Malad West. The boy is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident, captured on CCTY, took place at Interface Heights, behind Infinity Mall. On October 20, the police lodged an FIR against Shetty-Rathod, an HR consultant, for alleged rash driving. The police later added section 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which is a non-bailable offence. Senior inspector Ravindra Avhad said the probe is still underway.
