CBFC orders beef biriyani cut in Shane's 'Soul of Haal'

The board has also proposed an A certificate for the film, despite its lack of explicit violence or nudity

The Central Board of Film Certification has directed significant alterations to Shane Nigam’s pan-Indian film Soul of Haal, demanding the removal of several scenes, including one showing the consumption of beef biriyani.

The board's decision has sparked controversy, leading the producers to approach the High Court ina bid to overturn the ruling and establish clearer guidelines for film certification.Accord ing to CBFC's instructions, 15 scenes are to be excised from the film. These include references to specific cultural and religious elements, such as Dhwaja Pranamam, Sangham Kavalundu, Rakhi, and Ganapathivattom. Additionally, the board has insisted that a sequence featuring the heroine wearing a purdah be removed.
