Activists to hold rally against SC order on stray dogs

A significant mobilisation of animal lovers and activists is set to take place on December 14 as they will stage a peaceful rally in protest against the recent Supreme Court order and the @ subsequent standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) about relocating stray dogs.

The rally will be organised at Ghatkopar (E)'s Vikrant Circle by Pure Animal Lovers (PAL) Welfare Foundation to champion the rights of street animals.

The activists argue that the order will lead to the large-

scale removal of community dogs from their established territories and relocation to shelters. They assert that this violates the basic rights of animals to live safely, breaks the natural bond between

dogs, feeders, and communities, and ultimately escalates fear, suffering, and cruelty.
