Stalin's all-party meet targets BJP, AIADMK alliance
October 30, 2025
|The Free Press Journal - Indore
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is convening an all--party assembly on 2 November in Chennai to agree on a common strategy against the Election Commission of India’s special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu, a move its leadership describes as critical to safeguarding the state's democratic rights ahead of the 2026 assembly election.
Party president and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin said the invitation extends to all registered parties, including the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founded by actor-turned-politician Vijay, as well as opponents from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In his remarks, Stalin accused the BJP-AIADMK combine of attempting to “win by deletion’ — that is, deliberately trimming voters among working-class, Scheduled Caste, minority and female electors under the guise of SIR.
DMK officials say the meeting constitutes a strategic response to what they view as targeted political manoeuvres.
