SCR Gears Up to Handle Peak Festive Rush at Secunderabad Station

With festive crowds expected to surge past 2 lakh passengers daily, South Central Railway (SCR) has rolled out a detailed plan to manage the rush at Secunderabad station.
Typically handling around 1.3 lakh passengers a day, the station becomes a major hub during peak holiday periods. A recent two-day study found that nearly 90% of unreserved passengers prefer the Platform 1 side due to its better connectivity with RTC buses, metro, and nearby hotels. To ease crowding, SCR is considering diverting some trains through Sanathnagar-Ammuguda-Maula Ali-Charlapalli, adding halts at satellite stations like Charlapalli.
