Resignations rock C'garh Cong ahead of urban polls

The Congress party in Chhattisgarh faced significant setbacks following the release of its candidate list for the upcoming urban body elections.
On the last day of nominations, two prominent leaders, Nisha Biju of Nagar Panchayat Jarahi and Mungeli District Youth Congress President Rajesh Gharaiya, tendered their resignations.
Nisha Biju, a councilor from Nagar Panchayat Jarahi and the wife of late senior Congress leader and former Nagar Panchayat President Biju Dation, resigned from the party's primary membership and all posts. She submitted her resignation to District President Surajpur and Block President Pratappur, citing personal reasons. Nisha also returned her ward councillor ticket issued by the party, triggering a stir within Congress ranks.
