Police book Tipu Pathan and aides

Gangster Rizwan Sattar Pathan, alias Tipu, and eight of his associates have been booked by Pune Police in a new case of land grabbing and extortion.

The accused allegedly seized private property in Syed Nagar and demanded Rs25 lakh from a Mumbai-based woman to vacate the land.

The case was registered at the Kalepadal Police Station on Friday, adding to the long list of serious offences linked to Pathan, who has terrorised residents in the Hadapsar area. Police said the complaint was filed by a 3l-year-old woman from kurla, Mumbai, who owns the disputed plot.
