PM casts first vote in V-P polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first MP to cast his vote in the Vice-Presidential election on Tuesday which witnessed a direct fight between NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan and the joint opposition candidate B. Sudershan Reddy. At the end of the day all but 13 MPs had turned up to vote in the election.

Modi reached the Parliament House at 10 a.m. to cast his vote. He was accompanied by union ministers Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Jitendra Singh and L. Murugan. After voting the PM posted on "X": "Voted in the 2025 Vice President election."

Thereafter there was a steady stream of MPs who voted. Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi reached with her son and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Her daughter and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi came separately to vote.
