DRSC failure triggers legal notice to DC
October 15, 2025
|The Free Press Journal - Indore
In the wake of two recent fatal truck accidents in Hinjawadi, a coalition of Pune-based trusts and federations has served a legal notice on the district magistrate and collector, accusing the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) of failing to hold Supreme Court-mandated meetings for over two years.
The residents allege that this prolonged inaction constitutes a serious lapse in road safety oversight.
The notice, issued on Monday through advocate Satya Mule, demands that the administration furnish complete records of all DRSC meetings — including minutes, attendance details, and action plans — held since the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety (SCCORS) issued its directive on Mar 29, 2022. The groups warned that failure to comply within seven days could result in a contempt petition before the Supreme Court.
