A businessman based in Chennai, identified as Mohammed Shershad, was apprehended by officers from the Kochi South Police following allegations that he defrauded two individuals of Rs 40 lakh by promising dividends and shareholding rights in a company where he served as a director.
The victim complaint prompted a coordinated move to Chennai where Shershad was taken into custody. Police records reveal that the complainants, both hailing from the Kochi area, transferred the funds after being assured that their investment would yield returns through Sher
