Silent Hunter Mahe strengthens India’s coastal defence network

The Indian Navy commissioned INS Mahe, the first indigenous antisubmarine warfare shallow watercraft (ASW-SWC), on Monday, marking a significant boost to India's coastal defence capabilities and expanding the Navy's combat readiness in littoral zones.
The commissioning of INS Mahe, known as the Silent Hunter, at Mumbai’s Naval Dockyard marked a significant milestone to a 13-yearlong journey from when the vessel was conceptualised by the Defence Acquisition Committee in 2013.
