Digital deception now spreads faster than verified information, Sebi Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey cautioned on Thursday, urging investors to guard themselves against increasingly sophisticated online frauds.
Addressing an investor awareness seminar organised by the BSE in Coimbatore, Pandey said fraudulent trading apps are becoming alarmingly convincing, digital identities are engineered to mimic legitimacy, and so-called “guaranteed-return’” schemes continue to promise what no regulated market can deliver.
