My time in India didn't start well. Within 24 hours, I was in hospital with a badly sprained ankle. But what followed was magical. I fell in love with India - the people, the culture, and the soul of the country. It's hard to put into words.
Travel is quite spoken about concept these days, but it really can bring a paradigm shift in your life. Such is my story where I took a leap of faith and landed at a place for good. Fifteen months ago, I quit my corporate CA life in Australia, moved to India, and became a full-time content creator. This is my long story, short.
I grew up in Melbourne in a loving family and was lucky to receive a great education. In 2016, I started working with KPMG, one of the Big 4 accounting firms. In January 2019, KPMG sent me on a three-month project to Gurgaon, India, my first time visiting the country. I was nervous, to say the least, but I embraced the opportunity.
My time in India didn't start well. Within 24 hours, I was in hospital with a badly sprained ankle. But what followed was magical. I fell in love with India - the people, the culture, and the soul of the country. It's hard to put into words. I ended up extending my contract by a year and stayed until COVID hit in 2020, when I returned to Australia.
Back home, I continued at KPMG until I'd completed five years, then joined Transurban, a top-15 publicly listed company in Australia, where I worked for three more years. That's when things changed.
