SC dismisses ex-Google employee's petition alleging religious discrimination at workplace

The Supreme Court in the case Zahid Showat Alias MIR v Joint Secretary, Prime Ministers Office And Ors observed and has dismissed the writ petition filed by a terminated Google employee who wrote complaints to the Prime Minister about alleged religious discrimination he faced at the workplace.

In the present case, the petitioner in person, Zahid Showka,t filed a writ petition under Article 32 of the Constitution of India wherein it is stated that he was aggrieved by his termination and subsequent non-action on his written complaints to the Prime Minister's Office.

The bench comprising of Chief Justice of India, DY CHandrachud Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra was hearing the matter.

The bench of CJI DY Chandrachud in the case noted that the matter was related to proceedings before the labour court where the petitioner had challenged his termination.
