RSS lessons to be taught in city schools

Students of Delhi government schools will soon study a new curriculum on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), covering freedom fighters such as Veer Savarkar, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Education Minister Ashish Sood announced on Tues-
day. “The chapter on RSS is being added under this programme to inculcate civic and social consciousness among students and to bring Fundamental Duties into focus,” Sood said.
The new subject, titled Rashtraneeti, has been designed to promote civic awareness, ethical governance and national pride among students from Classes 1 to 12. It will cover the history and ideology of the RSS, the role of its workers in the freedom struggle, and its social work including disaster relief, blood donation drives, and Covid-19 assistance, ac-
cording to officials.
