Divasi Diwas, celebrated on August 9 every year, honors the rich culture, history, and contributions of the indigenous tribal communities across India. This day recognizes the unique identity and heritage of Adivasis while raising awareness about their rights, struggles, and the need for social and economic empowerment. It serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving tribal traditions and promoting inclusive development for these communities.

As the name suggests, Adivasi means resident on earth since the beginning. Adivasis are the original inhabitants of India. This community is also called local. This community still lives in the lap of nature. Shiva is the deity of this community which worships nature, sun, moon, trees, rivers, mountains, and animals. According to Vedas, Rudra means one who lives in the forest. Adivasis worship Shiva. This proves that the history of the tribal community is the history of the most ancient civilization.
