Punjab to Bring Resolution Against CISF Deployment at Bhakra Dams

The Mann govt has officially withdrawn the consent granted by Congress-led govt in 2021
Mid escalating tensions over water sharing with Haryana, the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab is set to introduce a resolution in the state assembly on Friday, formally opposing the deployment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the Bhakra-Nangal dams managed by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).
"We will bring a resolution in the Assembly to overturn the decision made by the Congress government, which had paved the way for CISF deployment at Punjab's dams and compromised the state's rights. If we can guard our borders, we are more than capable of securing our dams ourselves," Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann said during an interaction with media persons.
