|The Daily Guardian
This week marks a significant enhancement in the strategic alliance between India and Mauritius.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a two-day state visit to Mauritius, where he served as the chief guest at the national day celebrations and engaged in discussions with prominent leaders.
Invited by his counterpart, Navin Ramgoolam, Modi's visit resulted in the signing of several agreements designed to bolster collaboration in areas such as capacity building, trade, and the fight against cross-border financial crimes. The two nations formalized eight important Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and reaffirmed their dedication to India's vision of a free, stable, and peaceful Indian Ocean region.
During his visit, PM Modi also inaugurated significant projects financed by the Indian government and expressed India's commitment to supporting the construction of a new parliament for Mauritius. This collaboration underscores the deepening ties between the two countries and their mutual interest in fostering regional stability and development. The agreements and initiatives established during this visit are expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation and shared prosperity in the future.
