PM launches Rs 19,650 cr Navi Mumbai Airport, India's greenest air hub

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), a state-of-the-art greenfield facility that promises to transform air connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Western India.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 19,650 crore, the airport marks a major milestone in India's infrastructure drive and the government's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
Developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), NMIA is operated by Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd.
(NMIAL) a joint venture between Adani Airports Holdings Ltd (74%) and CIDCO (26%). Located in Ulwe, about 37 km from South Mumbai, the airport spans 1,160 hectares (2,866 acres) and is designed to ease congestion at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
PM Modi said the airport would not only boost connectivity but also help farmers in Maharashtra access markets in the Middle East and Europe, spurring regional growth and investment.
