Alliance (NDA) and Mahagathbandhan are locked in a high-stakes contest ahead of polling on November 6 and 11. Results will be declared on November 14.

The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), includes the Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPM and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also announced candidates on all 243 seats.
Meanwhile, internal discord continued to rattle the Mahagathbandhan after the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) announced its withdrawal from the alliance, citing “political cunning” by a leading partner. Jharkhand minister Sudi-
