The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi to constitute a team of three experts on the subject concerned to form opinion on the correct answer of a question in the NEET-UG 2024. A bench headed by Chief
Justice D Y Chandrachud asked the petitioners seeking re-test to show with the help of data released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which holds the examination, that there was a “systemic failure” in its conduct, and the paper leak was “widespread” and not restricted to Patna and Hazaribagh only.
“How do you establish that the paper leak was all over India?” the CJI asked.
During the hearing, the bench, also comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, took note of the submissions of some aspirants that a question of Physics had two correct answers and a set of examinees, who gave one particular answer out of the two correct ones, were awarded four marks.
