India’s maternal mortality rate dropped significantly due to rise in institutional deliveries: Nadda

Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Tuesday said the institutional delivery rate in the country hasincreased to 89 per cent, which led toa significant reduction in the maternal mortality rate during childbirth.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda performs the Bhoomi pujan of Dhar Medical College, set up under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, in Dhar on Tuesday. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, State Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, State BJP In-charge, Mahendra Singh and others also present.
He said the Narendra Modi government is striving through healthcare services to ensure that citizens do not fall illin the first place, adding that measures have been taken to prevent diseases.
