Haryana to grant Rs 1 crore ex-gratia to families of Agniveer martyrs

In a significant move to honour the service of Agniveers, the Haryana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, approved an ex-gratia grant of Rs 1 crore to the families of Agniveers who lose their lives in the line of duty.
The Cabinet also cleared a proposal to grant one-time cash awards to Agniveers from the state who win Gallantry or Distinguished Service awards.
This decision brings Agniveers under the same compensation scheme currently applicable to personnel of Defence and ParaMilitary Forces.
