The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Delhi Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions)
Bill, 2026, aimed at simplifying compliance procedures and decriminalising minor offences to ease the burden on courts and improve administrative efficiency.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Bill reflects the government's commitment to simplifying laws, cutting unnecessary legal complications and making governance more efficient. Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Jan Vishwas initiative at the Centre, she said Delhi is adopting a reform-oriented approach that prioritises trust over punishment.
