Cong Sirsa MLA Setia Opens Fire at Party, Hails BJP Again

In a fresh blow to the Congress party in Haryana, its MLA from Sirsa, Gokul Setia, has launched a scathing attack on his own party's high command while showering praise on BJP yet again.

Setia, who had joined Congress just before the 2024 Assembly elections and won from Sirsa defeating Gopal Kanda in a direct contest, posted a strongly worded note on Facebook expressing deep disappointment with the party leadership. He alleged that Congress is ignoring elected MLAs like him and favoring only leaders with "old and big names."

"Even after winning the election against all odds, I was never invited to any major party meeting. In Gujarat's convention too, there was no invite. Why are grassroots leaders ignored?" Setia questioned, demanding recognition and respect for first-time MLAs.
