BJP FULFILS SOME DELHI POLL PROMISES, MANY STILL PENDING

BJP marks first year in Delhi balancing delivered schemes with several high profile promises pending.

lhe BJP, which returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, is ending 2025 with only part of its election promises fulfilled, leaving Chief Minister Rekha Gupta facing a demanding governance agenda in the months ahead.

After dislodging the Aam Aadmi Party earlier this year, the BJP government moved quickly toroll out the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme in the capital. The recent launch of Atal Canteen, offering subsidised meals at Rs 5 to construction workers, daily wagers and slum dwellers, marked another key promise delivered.

However, several flagship commitments remain unfulfilled. Among the most closely watched is the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, under which the BJP promised a monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 to economically weaker women. Similarly, the pledge to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 500 with two free refills every year during Holi and Diwali is yet to be implemented.
