Reacting to the Haryana assembly elections, senior Congress party leader Harish Rawat said that the people of Haryana wanted the Congress to win and that the BJP has succeeded in polarising in the name of caste.
"The loss in Haryana was very surprising. It is not only a challenge but also a shock for the party. People wanted Congress to win. Haryana wanted Congress to win. BJP succeeded in polarising the party based on caste...This is their strategy everywhere - polarisation between Hindus and Muslims, polarisation in the name of castes," Harish Rawat told A
