Army rescues mother and newborn from flood-hit Gurdaspur village

In a remarkable display of courage and swift action, sappers of the Kharga Corps on Saturday rescued a woman who had recently undergone a caesarean section, along with her 15-day-old baby, from flood-hit Dhangai village in Gurdaspur district.
The mother and child had been trapped for four days on the first floor of a completely submerged house. On being alerted, the rescue team reached them using an improvised ladder. Braving strong water currents, the sappers evacuated the duo in
