Allahabad High Court stays arrest of Mohd Zubair till January 6 in Yati Narsinghanand 'X' post case: 'Not a dreaded criminal'

The Allahabad High Court in the case stayed the arrest of Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of Alt-News, till January 6, 2025 in connection with an First Information Report, FIR lodged against him over his post on 'X' (formerly Twitter) regarding an alleged inflammatory speech by Yati Narsinghanand.

The bench comprising of Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Nalin Kumar Srivastava was hearing the present matter.

The bench in the case granted him the relief while restraining him from leaving the Country till the next date of hearing i.e., January 06, 2025.

The court also said to him to cooperate with the police in the investigation.

The bench passed the said order after it could not conclude the hearing in the case today, and the State Government is yet to conclude its argument in the case.

The state government has been asked to file a detailed counter by January 06, 2025.

The court closes today and will reopen on January 02, 2025.
