AIMIM, Maurya in talks for Third Front

A new political front is taking shape in Bihar, with Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM joining hands with Swami Prasad Maurya’s Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party and in talks with Chandrashekhar Aazad’s Azad Samaj Party-Kanshi Ram to form a third bloc ahead of the state elections.
“We and the Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party of Swami Prasad Maurya are coming together to launch a third front in Bihar. The seat sharing will be discussed by Barrister sahab (Owaisi) and Akhtarul Iman sahab (AIMIM Bihar chief),” AIMIM spokesperson Adil Hasan told TDG.
Maurya, a five-time MLA and prominent OBC leader, has served as a minister in both BSP and BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh before quitting the Yogi Adityanath Cabinet in 2022 to join the Samajwadi Party. He later resigned and floated his own outfit in 2024.
