Agniveer from Haryana Dies After Being Accidentally Shot in Practice Drill

A pall of grief descended on Salhawas village in Jhajjar district of Haryana as 20-year-old Agniveer soldier Naveen Jakhar was cremated with full military and state honors on Friday.
Naveen lost his life during a training session in the Baramulla sector of Jammu and Kashmir on April 23.
Naveen, who joined the Indian Army under the Agnipath scheme just one-and-a-half years ago, was accidentally shot during a practice drill. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The sudden loss has shattered his family and plunged the village into mourning.
