TV's Doc Martin officially unveils plaque at outpatient department

TV star Martin Clunes has officially opened the £9m outpatient department at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance.

The actor, who unveiled a plaque watched by clinical staff from the department and the wider hospital team, said he was thrilled to be invited to open the new unit and meet staff and patients.

The new department, which became operational in June, incorporates some technically enhanced features allowing staff to virtual as well as face-to-face clinical care.

Final-year illustration students at Falmouth University were invited to submit works of art for one of their end-of-year modules, and all their creations are exhibited throughout the new building.
