Redruth go top of the Premier Division after a thrilling victory in the rain at Wadebridge
June 12, 2025
|The Cornishman
WEEK six of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League was the first week where there was widespread disruption due to the weather.
The county had overnight and morning rain. It resulted in 38 of 67 games (57 per-cent) being cancelled.
The eastern section was badly affected, with only a game at Tintagel being completed and one at Tideford abandoned after nine overs. Several games in the west were played after delayed starts, although isolated showers continued during the afternoon.
In the Premier Division, all five games were played after delayed starts. It was similar in County Division One, apart from a cancellation at St Erme. However, the games at Helston in the Premier and Hayle in County One were abandoned as 'No Results' due to the CCL Rule that doesn't allow DLS to determine a result unless 20 overs are available to the side batting second.
Redruth are top of the Premier after winning at morning joint leaders Wadebridge by just one run. Remarkably, after a day of rain on the north coast, a 20-over game was able to be played.
Dulash Udayanga made 35 in Redruth's 112-9, Callum Wilson took 3-14.
