Pirates and Penzance set to separate and Amateurs to end
July 10, 2025
|The Cornishman
CORNISH Pirates are set to demerge from Penzance & Newlyn and join up with Pirates Amateurs, who will lose their identity.
Championship club Pirates will go it alone once the Rugby Football Union gives the go-head for the move, which will see Pirates take their place in the new Champ Rugby division this season.
The name Pirates Amateurs will disappear, with a new club playing at Regional Two South West level this season called Penzance & Newlyn.
