Explore St Ives Bay by running 10k

THE stretch between Godrevy to Portreath? It’s Section 06 of Cornwall National Landscape.

Think sheer cliffs of unstable, soft, gritty slate constantly eroded by the unrelenting power of the Atlantic Ocean.

In stark contrast, just inland, the terrain turns from coastal heath to more recently enclosed farmland and further on to a quiet wooded valley.

But it’s out along that stretch of coast, and up onto the dunes, that runners can experience the beauty of the landscape and the challenge of sandy, coastal terrain. With Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance, on Tuesday, August 5, more than 250 runners can be expected to line up on the beach ready to run an out ‘n’ back race that perfectly captures the beauty of Cornwall. Welcome to the St Ives Bay 10k.
