EDUCATION: BILLIONAIRE JANNIE MOUTON'S FOUNDATION IN BUYOUT OFFER
The Jannie Mouton Stigting (JMS), a public benefit organisation backed and named after the billionaire founder of PSG Group and Capitec, has made an ambitious R7.2 billion buyout offer for listed private schools group Curro.
Its share price rocketed 52% in morning trade yesterday, following Curro's Sens announcement.
The proposed R13-per-share scheme of arrangement would see Curro delist from the JSE and operate as a non-profit company.
The consideration is structured as a mix of cash and shares: 6.6% in cash, 79.7% in Capitec Bank shares, and 13.7% in PSG Financial Services shares.
Based on the closing price of Curro's shares of R8.13 on Monday, the offer equates to a 60% premium to its 30-day volume-weighted average price.
