Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said yesterday the country's support for a two-state solution in the Middle East "remains the same" after President Donald Trump proposed a US takeover of the Gaza Strip.

Albanese said he would not give a "daily commentary" on statements by Trump after the president revealed a plan for a US takeover of Gaza, the resettlement of its Palestinian residents elsewhere and a redevelopment of the war-shattered territory.
