DEATH: CAN TRIGGER TREMENDOUS PAIN AND BRING ABOUT PHYSICAL CONSEQUENCES
In many cultures, death is an unwelcome intruder. Most of us think of it as a remote event that will happen in the far distant future and we are generally unprepared when we lose someone special.
This loss may trigger tremendous feelings of pain and anguish and can have emotional as well as physical consequences.
Often the first reaction to loss is disbelief and then as we begin to realize the significance of what has happened, we become overwhelmed by feelings of sadness, grief, despair and sometimes even anger at the person who has left us.
