'We are better than this'

HUNDREDS of people gathered in the Northumberland town of Ashington yesterday to protest against what demonstrators are referring to as “illegal immigrants” in the area.

The demonstration was shared by the Facebook page “British Unity’, and organisers said the aim was to have their concerns about safety in the town, which they believe is being put at risk by “illegal immigrants”, recognised by the Government.
