Station building to be transformed into community hub

A FORMERLY disused building at Whitley Bay Metro station is to be converted into a community hub to help those with learning disabilities get into work.

North Tyneside Council has approved plans, from local learning disability support organisation New Prospects, to transform the ex-stable into a new business hub.

According to planning documents, the stable will be used to house a bakery, retail and workshop facilities.
