Road closures for Whitley Bay as gas network maintenance begins

RESIDENTS of Whitley Bay have been informed about a series of extensive roadworks and temporary closures scheduled to begin today.

The works will be conducted over three phases, beginning with the A193 Park Avenue. The maintenance will see gas pipes replaced with more durable materials.

From today, temporary traffic lights will be in place to deal with the southbound lane closure of Park Avenue from the York Road junction.
