MARION MCMULLEN discovers Davina McCall is not joking about her dream Comic Relief sketch ahead of another night of fundraising fun and games

RAISING SMILES... AND VITAL CASH

STELLAR LINE-UP: Davina McCall centre with (L-R) Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, AJ Odudu, Joel Dommett, Alesha Dixon, Jonathan Ross and Tom Allen who are all doing their bit for Comic Relief

“COMIC Relief is in my DNA,” declares Davina McCall. “I know the charity, I know how they work, and I know how much they care.”

The presenter is back to host a full evening of entertainment on Friday and will be joined by comedy heavy-hitters including Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed and Joel Dommett.

Expect unmissable moments and surprises, along with a cackling collection of sidesplitting sketches such as The Bank Job with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, and others featuring some of the BBC's biggest shows, including The Traitors and Amandaland.

Davina also knows exactly who she would cast in her own dream comedy sketch.

“I'd have George Clooney, Kate Bush and Michelle Obama in it,” she says, “and funnier people than me would have to come up with the story. But that’s what I want and I’m putting it out there to the universe. Make it happen.”

Meanwhile, Catherine Tate will be joining in on the night from Salford's MediaCityUK in the guise of Nan from The Catherine Tate Show.

Davina, 58, says: “I am mildly terrified of Nan if I’m honest.

“How I’m going to stop her from swearing, I just don’t know!

“Obviously ‘please do not swear’ was my catchphrase [when she presented Big Brother] - so I’m going to have to stay on my toes.”
